Our Curation Process

Giftegy is a curated gift recommendation platform serving people who need thoughtful gift ideas across a wide range of recipients and occasions. Unlike algorithmic product feeds that surface whatever sells best or pays the highest affiliate commission, every gift on Giftegy is manually reviewed before being included. Our focus is on gifts that are actually used — digital subscriptions, experiences, creative tools, and quality physical items that recipients genuinely appreciate.

Our editorial team researches products across major retail platforms, reads verified customer reviews, and evaluates each item against our curation criteria before it appears on the site. Products that do not meet our standards are rejected regardless of affiliate commission potential.

Curation Criteria

1. Utility — Does this gift get used, not just opened? We prioritize subscriptions, courses, and experiences over decorative or novelty items.
2. Delivery reliability — Digital gifts must deliver instantly or within a guaranteed timeframe. Physical gifts must ship from reputable merchants with clear fulfillment processes.
3. Value — We consider price-to-value ratio across multiple price points, from budget-friendly to premium.
4. Recipient fit — Gifts are categorized by recipient type (for her, for him, for kids, etc.) and interest area to help givers find relevant options quickly.
5. Brand reputation — We avoid featuring brands with poor customer service records or known quality issues.

Affiliate relationships do not influence which gifts are featured. We do not accept payment for featured placements or reviews. Our editorial process is the same for affiliate and non-affiliate products. Many products featured on Giftegy have no affiliate relationship at all — they are included purely on merit. When affiliate links are available, they allow us to sustain the platform without charging users or requiring subscriptions. The commission comes from the retailer and adds no cost to the buyer.

Pricing & Availability

Prices and availability shown on Giftegy are updated regularly but may not reflect real-time changes. Retail pricing is dynamic — merchants run sales, adjust prices seasonally, and discontinue products without notice. Where available, we note the typical price range rather than a single price point. This approach gives a more realistic expectation, since the exact price at the time of your purchase may differ from when we last reviewed the listing.

Update Frequency

Gift listings are reviewed on a rolling basis. We prioritize reviewing high-traffic categories and seasonal picks ahead of major gift-giving occasions (holidays, graduation season, Valentine's Day). Products that are discontinued, consistently out of stock, or receive poor user feedback are removed. New products are added as we identify gifts that meet our curation criteria.
